Studio Etiquette
Jivananda Timetable

Arrive 5 minutes before class starts. If you are going to be late please phone so that we can make a space available for you. However, should you get stuck and cannot avoid being late, please don't miss the class.

Observe silence when you come into the studio and until class begins. For some students this is the only time they have for quiet time. It is a time to move out of your world of thoughts and come into the present moment and connect with yourself.

When you replace bolsters, borrowed mats, belts, blocks or blankets please replace them mindfully where they came from.

If you need support for ankles or head or anything else, please bring a large towel or blanket with you.

Be mindful of the effect of strong perfumes on your fellow students.

Remove watches and noisy jewellery.

Leave handbags and personal belongings that are not required during the class at the back or in your car.

If you have any injuries or are pregnant, please inform the teacher before the class begins. Many injuries can be accommodated if the teacher is aware of them. You may have to sit out or modify some postures but the overall benefit of the class will be worth it.

If you are ill, have a cold or fever, please remain at home. It is never good to exert yourself when not well. Your body needs all its energy to heal itself.

If you arrive early you may read the books on the bookshelf, however please do not remove them from the studio.
